Fueling the mind and body with quality nutrition, including macronutrients, micronutrients, and hydration, is of the utmost importance. Nutrition is the process of eating the right kinds of nutrients over time in order to support growth and stay healthy. Nutrition is the study of nutrients in food, how the body uses them, and the relationship between diet and health. Because people have different dietary needs, some might need more of some kind of nutrients, while others need less. So, nutrition is measured differently than nutrients are. Finding out whether someone is getting the right nutrition for their body involves examining a person’s individual needs over time. From the hydration standpoint, take your body weight and divide it in half. Whatever that number is will be the number of ounces of pure water to drink each day. Consider listening to Dr. Rupy Aujla discuss using food as medicine.
